Marigold Board Declares Freedom to Read Week

News Date:
28 November 2016

Freedom to Read Week is an annual event that encourages Canadians to think about, and to reaffirm their commitment to intellectual freedom. Marigold encourages all member municipalities to proclaim this week of February 26 to March 4 as Freedom to Read Week 2017.

Freedom to Read is supported every day in Marigold libraries. Marigold member library boards, library staff members and volunteers work hard to provide an open, safe, judgment free setting where people can feel welcome and comfortable. No single library can house materials on every topic that is needed by or is of interest to its patrons.  This is why patrons of Marigold member libraries are incredibly fortunate - they have the collections of over 300 libraries in Alberta available to them!

Celebrate your Freedom to Read.
(declared by Marigold Board at the November 26, 2016 Board Meeting.)
